The good news is we don’t have to continue in the destructive cycle. We can change. Sexual sin is not unforgivable. You can be forgiven and God can make things new. Problem is we normally don’t give up on something we’re doing until we are convinced there is a preferred future.

If you are not married, there is going to come a day where you will most likely be in a relationship that leads to marriage. Are you living the story you want to tell on that day? You can’t change the last chapter of your present story. But you can change the story of this next chapter. Today can be a defining day for you to make a change.

Before God, if you’ll come clean and get out of that relationship, get out of the porn… you can do it. We have some people who help you. But you can walk in holiness. You can change.

Married people – you want a better sex life. Most of us do. Then make a commitment today – come clean, deal with the pain and work through the resolution. Trash the porn stash. Put filters on your computer. Get rid of the TV, the computer, the cell phone – do whatever is necessary to get some help and walk in purity. It doesn’t get better… it gets worse. I probably don’t have to tell you that – you are experiencing it already. Remember what we saw in 1 Corinthians 6:18, "Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body."

Take the 9 Month Challenge

I’m going to ask you to take a challenge. It takes 9 months for new life to be born. Take the 9 month challenge. If you are sleeping with someone – break up. Don’t date anyone for 9 months. Come clean, get out, get pure. If you are addicted to porn – get it out, get in a healthy accountability relationship and let’s go clean. 9 months. It takes 9 months for a baby to be born – let’s go with 9 months to a new you.

To the follower of Jesus, 1 John 4:4 says, “Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” You can overcome. By his grace, by his power. God can restore. He can bring healing to your hurts. He can take that heart of stone and make it a heart of clay. What has been broken can be restored.

Take some time to reflect and allow God work on your heart. In Matthew 5:8 Jesus says, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." Do you want to see God? I trust that you do. Ask the Lord to do business with you. Ask the Lord to work on your heart right now. Let your prayer be of the Psalmist, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." (Psa. 51:10)
