Have you ever wondered, does my life have purpose? Of course you have. We all have. It's a general truth that all people -everywhere- long for a sense of meaning to their lives. In the Bible, there was a great king named Solomon. It says that he was wisest man who ever lived. He discovered something very profound, yet very simple. Life is futile and meaningless when this life is all there is to it. At the end of his book Ecclesiastes, he summed up the most important truth to life, "The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil." (Ecc. 12:13-14) We are to live our lives in light of eternity. In other words, we should have a greater perspective to live than what is just here and now. This enables us to live freely and wisely. Widening our horizons to see what is really there is critical to finding purpose. Let's pay attention to Isaiah when he said, "Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other." (Isa 45:22) Looking to God to fulfill your deepest longings and desires is the answer. Check out this short video as we continue to Explore God together.
